When I heard Claire was getting married....
....I was totally taken back. I was friends with her older sister, Emily, as a teen and couldn't believe that the tiny and beyond precious little redheaded Claire was no longer 5 years old and was now GETTING MARRIED. After catching my breath and telling myself "you're not THAT old, Christina" (a few times), I realized the HONOR I was just offered. The Ferguson family has always been kind, generous and absolutely beautiful people with a tight family bond, infections laughs, and who all know how to have a darn good time. I COULDN'T WAIT TO MEET JAY. I knew he was going to be just as incredible as the wonderful Ferguson family I grew up knowing. So we set up a day to meet up for coffee at a little shop in the Keller, Texas area called Kindred Coffee Co .
And of course, when I met Claire and Jay together for the first time I was once again blown away. They perfectly complimented each other in every way- the way they hold and talk to each other was precious to watch but it was the way they spoke to each other that actually made me realize they have something uniquely special. They finished each others sentences, paused and turned to the other for the correct words when they didn't have them, and then, in the moments between their speaking- the ones when they looked at each other as they worked through my long list of prep questions and Jay would crack a tiny smile just because he saw Claire or Claire had a special twinkle in her eye when she looked back at Jay- there was just no denying this pair had something truly unique.
When their wedding day finally arrived it was just as beautiful as I had anticipated. Surrounded by friends and family they got ready in Claire childhood home near the North Fort Worth area and then hurried over the the Church in Keller. If you've never been to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Keller, it is mind blowing. Filled with stained glass, gold columns, and handprinted domes and crosses with ornate statues from top to bottom. It really is stunningggg.
After mass, we drove over to one of our favorite venues, The Dalmore at Fossil Creek, for the new Mr. & Mrs. Standridge's reception. They had an afternoon reception filled with lunch, Aggie pride and regular comments dropped about how much Jay loves math. We climbed down a hill to a nearby golf course for some quick wedding party photos under a tree that had that *chef kiss* perfect light and wrapped up portraits with the sweetest local golfer showering Claire & Jay with celebratory cheers and offering them a ride back up to the venue in their golf cart. Such a fun surprise!
We wrapped the afternoon up with a grand Aggie style venue exit and then drove to a nearby park, The Keller Pointe, for some couples portraits and hugs before saying goodbye. Will and I had a blast capturing Claire & Jay's love and we hope you guys like this little peak into their big day.
